Shipping Policy
At Downswood Worms, we take great care to ensure every order is packed securely and dispatched in the best possible condition. If you have any questions about your order or delivery, please contact us by emailing info@downswoodworms.co.uk or via our Contact Us page.
Dispatch Schedule
Live worms are normally dispatched Monday to Wednesday to reduce the risk of parcels being held in the postal network over the weekend. Thursday dispatches may also be available depending on the weather forecast and the delivery location, helping to ensure your worms arrive safely and in excellent condition.
Non-perishable items are dispatched Monday to Friday.
During periods of extreme weather or postal disruption, we may delay the dispatch of live worms until conditions are suitable. If this happens, we'll let you know as soon as possible.
Delivery Services
Live worms are sent using Royal Mail Tracked 24® or a similar next working day tracked service where appropriate.
All other items are sent using Royal Mail Tracked 48® or a similar tracked service, unless otherwise stated on the product page.
Please note that delivery times are estimates and cannot be guaranteed. Once an order has been handed to the courier, delays are outside of our control.
UK Delivery Only
At present, Downswood Worms only delivers within the United Kingdom. We are unable to accept orders for delivery outside the UK.
Multiple Parcels
Where an order contains both live worms and non-perishable items, we may dispatch them separately. This allows us to use the most suitable delivery service for each product and helps ensure your live worms spend as little time in transit as possible.
If your order is split, you may receive separate dispatch confirmations and tracking numbers.
Shipping Address
Please ensure your delivery address is correct before placing your order. We cannot accept responsibility for delays or non-delivery caused by incorrect or incomplete address details.
Receiving Your Order
If your order contains live worms, we recommend that someone is available to receive the delivery where possible. Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives and contact us within 24 hours if there are any issues.
Extreme Weather
The welfare of our worms is our priority. During periods of exceptionally hot or cold weather, we may postpone the dispatch of live worms until conditions are suitable. This helps ensure your worms arrive healthy and in the best possible condition.
